Michela Talin
Academic Director & Italian Teacher

Hi and welcome! I’m Michela.

It’s lovely to have you here at Italian Inside!

I’m originally from Vicenza, a beautiful city in northern Italy, located between Venice and Lake Garda. Vicenza is renowned for its architecture and is closely associated with the great 16th-century architect Andrea Palladio.

My journey into teaching began in Italy, where I earned a Master’s Degree in Modern Languages and Literatures from the University of Padua. I later completed postgraduate studies in Teaching Italian as a Second Language and obtained the CEDILS certification from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. I also qualified to teach English and French in Italian secondary schools.

Teaching has always been a passion of mine; I started teaching while I was still at university! I truly believe it's a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with my students. Creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere is crucial for effective learning and I always do my best to create a friendly and fun environment where students feel comfortable and confident trying out a new language.

Before moving to Scotland, I taught English in Italian secondary schools and Italian to foreign learners in my hometown. Since moving to Scotland, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching Italian to adults of all levels at various local schools, the Italian Cultural Institute in Edinburgh and currently Languages for All at the University of Edinburgh.

Now that you know a little more about me, I look forward to getting to know you too and hopefully welcoming you to one of our classes.

Gabriele

Business & Digital Director

Hi, I’m Gabriele. Nice to meet you!

I’m the person behind much of the technology, marketing and day-to-day running of Italian Inside.

Technology has been a passion of mine since childhood, when I first discovered computers through my Commodore VIC-20, which probably says more about my age than I’d like!

My professional background, however, took me in a very different direction. After completing my studies in accounting, I built a career in sales, gaining more than 20 years of experience across sales and business development, including managing large sales teams.

I currently work in food-sector sales and business development across Scotland.

Over the years, my experience in business, sales, hospitality and technology has come together in a rather unexpected way at Italian Inside. Today, I look after the technology behind the school, its website and digital platforms as well as supporting its marketing and business development.

While Michela focuses on teaching and the academic side of Italian Inside, my role is to help make everything around the learning experience work smoothly and to support the continued development of the school.

I hope to welcome you to Italian Inside soon!
